A very unique opportunity for Art Lovers and Artistes, in one of the most beautiful and enchanted settings of Burgundy. A week long vacation in the Cistercian Abbey of La Bussiere built
in 1103 and founded by Saint Bernard, with art lessons by Philippe
Leroy, from the "Ecole de la Vallée de l'Ouche."
You will discover, learn and improve all the major skills and aspects
of art, in the surroundings of the 900 year old Abbey, canal towpaths,
river banks, winding country roads, sunflowers, red poppy fields,
old French villages and sleepy houses. The combination of rich local
Cistercian architecture, the wealth of shades of green vegetation,
French food, Burgundian wines and the fine hospitality of the Abbey
will make this an unforgettable experience. Your program includes lessons with pencil and paper, ink drawing,
water colour and oil painting techniques, on small and medium formats.
This years theme is dedicated to the cancellation of tradition and
modern life. You will have at your disposition exceptional landscapes,
subjects and views to work, in the agreement of a small group of
people. There are two dates available for this years 7 day course, July 8th to July 14th and August 5th to August 11th. The art course is priced at 1700 ff, (245 US$, 259 Euro approx) excluding accommodating. An example price of accommodating in the Abbey for 7 days half board is 1750 ff or only 2240 ff full board.
