The downstream approach to the lock is quite difficult for larger boats as you'll have to hug the left hand bank to get into the lock. Also if your coming downstream, leave enough room for upstream boats to leave the lock. You can moor below the look, but you will have to use the bollards a 100 meters away. Over the last few years, there has been a few barges mooring beside a charming white cottage, but with generators on. As such the owners of the cottage became fed up and complained to the canal management. Whilst you here, take a visit to the nearby abbey, it is very worth while. The abbey is also a Michelin rated restaurant. |
