If you are coming upstream and wish to go through the tunnel, make sure you inform the lock keeper and have required papers and equipment, if you going downstream, after this lock you have quite a few automatic locks to get through.

The large port of Pouilly en Auxois is quite deserted by other boats, due to the difficulty of passing the tunnel and climbing the staircases on the Yonne side. However the moorings are excellent, there is water, garbage and electricity. Turning 38 meter bagres is easy. There is also a useful slipway for small craft.

Just beside the port, there are two very handy hardware stores, which sell paints, wood and much more. They have had much experience serving barges and generally keep a good stock of material.

To get to the nearby supermarket you still have to walk 250 meters.
