The port of Dijon

Port of Dijon

To the left some mules are working with a loaded barge. Tn the back ground is the original hydraulic bridge designed by Effiel, the bridge would be lifted to allow boats to pass underneath. On the right there are tree logs, one of the principle items transported by barges at this time. The lock is being filled, probably for the barge to the left. It is also possible to see women washing laundry to the right of the man with the dog.
