The small village of Ravières lies on the left side of the canal as you cruise upstream. There is a small supermarket, which will be very useful if you've cruised down stream as this is the most important shop available since Pouilly en Auxois.

Below, a postcard of the once famous "Pottery barge", moored in the village of Ravières, the owner would cruise from village to village selling plates, bowls, jugs etc. The boat was called "Le Vapour" and the owner Marcel Drigard. There is a story that there were actually two such barges. One very similar and owned by the son of Drigard.
