Sainte Marie sur Ouche

At first you may be disappointed with the village, but you should take some time to have a look around the old village, the church and also the memorials for the members of the French Resitance killed just before the end of the German occupation.

Lock house at Sainte Marie sur Ouche

The lady lock keeper at number 36 has always tendered her garden with much care.

Bridge on the river Ouche

The village centre is on the other side of the river Ouche, whilst on the canal side, there are just fields and green forest.

It is possible to moor below lock 36 on the left, but you'll need a long gang plank due to the errosion. If you prefer continue upstream and moor just below lock 35 on the left in the shade of the trees.
