Sainte-Marie-sur-Ouche

At first you may be disappointed with the village, but you should take some time to have a look around the old village, the church and also the memorials for the members of the French Resistance killed just before the end of the German occupation.

The lady lock keeper at number 36 has always tendered her garden with much care.

The village centre is on the other side of the river Ouche, whilst on the canal side, there are just fields and green forest.

It is possible to moor below lock 36 on the left, but you'll need a long gangplank due to the erosion. If you prefer continue upstream and moor just below lock n°35 on the left in the shade of the trees.
