A wonderful red Burgundy pinot noir, from the village of Volnay, which borders Pommard to the north and Mersault to the south. Three miles away you have the famous Pulingy and Chassagne Montrachet vineyards.

Just a little tip concerning the Volany and Mersault wines. White Volanay can be sold as Mersault AOC and Red Mersault can be sold as Volany.
There also happens to be one of the most enjoyable restaurants in Burgundy, with real French cuisine. "Cellier Volnaysien" in the village center, they serve an excellent "Coq au vin", and with
a "Clos des Chênes red wine, you will have an unforgetable meal. It is very difficult to do anything after a meal here. So prepare yourself to spend some time relaxing.
The village is most charming, with naroow streets, many private courtyards and the tiny Church in the center holds some very interesting relics.
