Dicover the Veloroute for cyclist in Burgundy!

Over the last few years there has been a huge effort and much financing in the managment and condition of the canal tow-path. You can now cycle from end of the canal to the other, take specially indicated circuits to explore the surroundings, villages and of places of historical interests.

The tow-path has been totally rebuilt to allow a very comfortable ride along side the canal. You can pass the barges, lock houses and cross anyroads very safely. There are miles of macadam which is great for rollers and skaters. There is no road traffic on the path, there are signs indicating distances and what to visit. Perfect for all ages and levels of cyclists.

If you like boats and bicycles why not combine both pleasures with barge cruise!

You can also rent bicycles from certain lock houses and local tourist offices.

The Burgundian region is ideal for cycling holidays. There are all types of terrain, small mountains, steep hills, soft undulating valleys and hills, to vast flat plains. With a low point altitude of 200 meters above sea level, and a highest point of 650 meters, most people will find their pleasure.

There are hundreds of kilometre of small country roads through vineyards; the natural park of the Morvan, and of course the Veloroute canal towpath which is a very accessible path of more than 240 kilometres.

There are many hotels, bed and breakfasts, Gites and camping sites in the region. It's possible to arrange accommodation and suitable circuits to match your plans. Transport to local sites by minibus so that you can cycle one-way.
