The town of Tonnerre, with a population of 6500, offers all comodities.

One of the few places along the canal where you will find vineyards. Epineuil with Pinot noir. Tonnerre et de Molosmes, white chardonnay.

La Fosse Dionne, in the centre of the old town is a water source, the second deepest in France, the continual supply of water has long mystified people and is well worth a visit. In 1758 it was converted into a "Lavoire".

Hotel Dieu, Fondation de Marguerite de Bourgogne.
