Navigation Conditions And Information

From 07 May 2026 and until further notice, due to maintenance work on the Panthier reservoir, the following instructions have been issued:
- Navigation is stopped between locks 9 - 49 (Saône); the water level will not be guaranteed. Take the necessary steps and move your barge.
- Navigation is stopped between locks 50 - 54 (Saône); the water level will not be guaranteed. Take the necessary steps and move your barge.
- Between locks 49 and 50Saône) at the port of Plombiers-les-Dijons, the water level will be maintained.

The tunnel at Pouilly en Auxois is closed to all navigation on 11/05/2026 from 09.00hrs until 19.00hrs for maintenance work

Canal summit and the Tunnel
The tunnel and pound between Lock 1 Yonne at Pouilly en Auxois and Lock 1 at Escommes is closed to all navigation between 24/04/2026 09.00hrs until 24//04/2026 19.00hrs for security exercises
Pouilly-en-Auxois to Venarey-les-Laumes
Lock 1 Yonne to lock 52 Yonne
From 7th April 2026, you must ask for permission and reserve a "slot" passage in advance to cruise on this section of the canal, whether upstream or downstream.
Navigation in this area will be available on weekdays only, from 9.00 to 11.30 in the morning and from 14.00 to 16.30 in the afternoon, and for a 5-month period (ending in August).
Lock 1 Saône to lock 76 Saône
The Panthier reservoir is undergoing an important maintenance and improvement program. The work has begun and will continue throughout 2026 into 2027.
Navigation from Lock 9 Saône at Vandensse to Saint-Jean-de-Losne is open from 28 March 2026 until 15 May 2026; after that date, navigation restrictions may apply.
