Going upstream you will continue the short staircase of locks up to Escommes. If you have the time the port of Vandenesse is an ideal rest place. There is deep mooring, bollards on both sides of the canal, water, electricity and waste. The charming village has a two restaurants, a wonderful pottery and interesting nearby historical visits.  |
